There has been no news from Yüksel Işık, who climbed Cilo Sat Mountain at an altitude of 4 thousand 135 in HAKKARİ, since Monday. Drone-supported search and rescue activities continue in the region.
Two climbers who came to Hakkari from Bursa started climbing Cilo Sat Mountain with an altitude of 4 thousand 135 on July 13. While one of the climbers decided to turn back halfway through the climb, Yüksel Işık continued to the summit alone. After a while, contact with Işık was lost and the other climber reported the situation to the authorities. Upon notice, AFAD, National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) and Hakkari Municipality fire brigade were dispatched to the region.
The teams concentrated their intermediate activities around the Süppa Dürek summit and the Heaven and Hell Valley, located in the northwest of the Cilo Sat Mountains. While it was stated that the altitude exceeding approximately 4 thousand meters, steep cliffs and rugged terrain made the activities difficult, it was stated that all means were mobilized to reach the missing climber. Authorities stated that search and rescue activities in the region will continue uninterruptedly until results are obtained.
