Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu said, "The best healthcare services in the world are in Türkiye. While providing these, we are also striving for a healthy society. In this regard, we want our society to stay away from habits such as addiction, cigarettes, and tobacco, pay attention to their weight, and maintain active lifestyles."
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu visited the Governorship as part of his Aydın program. Minister Memişoğlu, who visited Aydın Governor Osman Varol in his office, signed the Governorship's Book of Honor. Minister Memişoğlu was accompanied by Deputy Health Minister Nurullah Okumuş, AK Party Aydın deputies Mustafa Savaş, Seda Sarıbaş, and Ömer Özmen, as well as AK Party Aydın Provincial Chairman Mehmet Erdem, and MHP Aydın Provincial Chairman Osman Gazi Cihangiroğlu.
Making a statement after the visit, Minister Memişoğlu evaluated healthcare services in Aydın. Minister Memişoğlu said, "Our President recently opened the 1,300-bed Aydın Şehir Hastanesi, which continues to serve as a training and research hospital. We are here for better, more comprehensive healthcare services. With the transformation in healthcare, Türkiye has seen a significant increase in service capacity over the last 24 years. In Aydın alone, there are 71 facilities; approximately 33 of these are secondary and tertiary care. When our President visited, we opened hospitals in Çine and Didim along with the Şehir Hastanesi. We also opened an Oral and Dental Health Center."
Minister Memişoğlu continued his words as follows:
"In Aydın, there are also the historical Atatürk Hastanesi and Aydın Devlet Hastanesi. Additionally, there is the Kadın Doğum Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi, which is currently being moved to the Şehir Hastanesi. We are making plans regarding these as well. Hopefully, we will make the Kadın Doğum Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi more effective, and we will have a hospital in the city center. Furthermore, Atatürk Hastanesi is a historical hospital; we will also plan for that. We will serve our nation and Aydın with very good projects related to healthcare services at the Devlet Hastanesi and Atatürk Devlet Hastanesi."
Stating that activities for a healthy society are ongoing, Minister Memişoğlu said, "The best healthcare services in the world are in Türkiye. While providing these, we are also striving for a healthy society. In this regard, we want our society to stay away from habits such as addiction, cigarettes, and tobacco, pay attention to their weight, and maintain active lifestyles. Especially during the summer, we expect our people to walk outdoors, exercise, and be active frequently so that they can be healthy. Therefore, I recommend this to all of Aydın and the Aegean region. Because this region is essentially the center of healthy eating. This is our region where olives, olive oil, greens, and vegetables are consumed the most, and it is also Türkiye's healthiest region in terms of weight. Therefore, for them to be healthier, we also want them to quit smoking, not use tobacco, and increase their physical activity."
