July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day was Commemorated with Enthusiasm in Diyarbakır - Last Minute

Various programs were organized in Diyarbakır within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

A commemoration event was organized by Diyarbakır Governorship in front of the Governorship building in the central Yenişehir district on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor Erdal Kuruçay, 7th Corps Commander Major General Ertan İnaltekin, 8th Main Jet Base Commander Brigadier General Burak Özan, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Tarık Hekimoğlu, Provincial Police Chief Nurettin Gökduman, veterans and martyrs' families, non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the program.

Speaking here, Governor Zorluoğlu said that 10 years have passed since that dark night, when a whole nation that changed the course of history fought at the expense of its life for its independence and future. Stating that the people of Diyarbakır are very happy and honored to come together in this meaningful program on the 10th anniversary of the July 15 epic and the glorious resistance of our beloved nation, Zorluoğlu said, "On this occasion, I greet each of you with my most heartfelt feelings, love and respect. Welcome, you brought joy. That night, 253 sons of the country drank the sherbet of martyrdom. More than 2 thousand of our brothers were injured and became veterans. Every single one of these numbers I remember with mercy and gratitude all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the future of our nation, the survival of our state and the preservation of our sacred values, especially these brothers of ours, who took to the streets without hesitation and filled the squares with the historic call of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 15, 2016. "From Diyarbakır, I would like to express my gratitude once again, on behalf of myself and my state, to every member of our noble nation who said 'I will determine my president, my own government, my own parliament, and I will not surrender my will to the coup plotters' scoundrels," he said. - DIYARBAKIR
