The pond, located on the Dereli hot springs road between Emet and Tavşanlı districts of Kütahya, known for their natural beauty, has been on the agenda recently with environmental pollution. The garbage thrown haphazardly around the pond, which is one of the frequent destinations of citizens on weekends and summer months, infuriated nature lovers.
Garbage scattered around the environment, from plastic bottles to bags, from packaging waste to picnic leftovers, not only creates a bad appearance but also threatens natural life. Sensitive citizens reacted to the situation and stated that the pond's surroundings should be kept clean, and called on everyone who comes to the region to act responsibly towards the environment.
Citizens who visited the area made the following statements in their statement:
"This is a very beautiful common area where we all breathe with its air and nature. However, unfortunately, some self-conscious people leave all their garbage here after having a picnic. If everyone took the garbage of the materials they brought here with them when they left, these ugly scenes would not happen. It is our civic duty to protect nature and keep it clean."
Citizens demanded that the authorities increase inspections and take deterrent measures in order to prevent pollution in the region, and invited everyone to be more sensitive for a clean environment. - KUTAHYA
