A commemoration event was held in Izmir on the 10th anniversary of the thwarting of the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, 2016. While citizens filling Konak Square commemorated July 15 with Turkish flags in their hands, speeches were made at the event.
Following the speeches, video screenings, concerts, mehteran and zeybek shows also took place at the event. After the reading of the Conquest Surah, Izmir Provincial Mufti Dr. Mevlüt Haliloğlu read a prayer.
