On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, a martyrdom visit, a Mawlid program, visits to relatives of martyrs and veterans, and a cortege march were held in Kahramanmaraş. Speaking at the program at the National Will Square, Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer and Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel emphasized that July 15 was a historical turning point in which the nation defended democracy and national will.
Commemoration and visit programs were held throughout the day in Kahramanmaraş on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Within the scope of the program, a visit to the martyrs' cemetery, a mawlid program and visits to the relatives of martyrs and veterans were made, while a cortege march was organized from Democracy Square to National Will Square in the evening.
The commemoration program held at the National Will Square started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers. Speaking in the program, Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel and Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer emphasized that July 15 was a historical turning point in which the nation defended democracy and national will.
In his speech, Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer stated that July 15 was not only the day when a coup attempt was prevented, but also a resurrection epic in which the nation defended its state and democracy, and said that the theme "Our Will, Our Victory" was a strong expression of national will and independence.
The program continued throughout the night with the 15 July Martyrs Banner Run, short film screenings, a mehter concert, a poetry recital, an ode and hymn program, and the recitation of the Holy Quran.
