In New York City, USA, a 25-year-old woman was subjected to an attempted rape in a subway station during daylight hours. The attack was interrupted by the intervention of other passengers, and the fleeing suspect was apprehended by the police shortly after.

The incident occurred on the Q train platform of the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street subway station in Manhattan. According to information provided by the New York Police Department (NYPD), the 25-year-old woman was followed by a suspect after she exited the train. The suspect pushed the woman to the ground on the platform and attempted to sexually assault her.

When other passengers on the platform intervened, the assailant abandoned his attempt and fled the scene. The events were also captured by cell phone cameras by individuals nearby. It was reported that the woman sustained minor injuries but declined to go to the hospital.
