Construction has begun on the Milas Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital building, implemented by Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKÜ) within the scope of its investment program.
Following the completion of the construction tender for the Milas Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital building, which will be carried out by Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University within the scope of its investment program in the Milas district, the construction process has commenced.
A total of 38 companies submitted bids for the tender, which was conducted through an open bidding procedure on April 27, 2026. As a result of the evaluation, it was decided to award the tender to Özhanlar Grup İnşaat Anonim Şirketi for a sum of 239 million 972 thousand TL, excluding VAT.
The project contract was signed on June 1, 2026, and the site handover took place on June 5, 2026. The animal hospital, with a construction period set at 800 days, is planned to be completed and opened for service on August 13, 2028.
One-on-One Examinations to Be Conducted on Animals in the Necropsy Building
The project, which will have a total indoor area of 4,793 square meters, will consist of a 4,588-square-meter main building and a 205-square-meter detached Necropsy building. Additionally, the hospital complex will include a 2,590-square-meter parking area.
The animal hospital, notable for its modern infrastructure, will offer advanced diagnostic and treatment services for small and large animals. The main building will feature 4 pet animal operating rooms, 3 intensive care units, 22 cat and dog examination rooms, ultrasonography, radiology, tomography, and MRI units, a central laboratory, an emergency clinical examination room, quarantine units, and horse and cattle operating rooms.
Furthermore, the project will include intensive care and quarantine areas for large animals, clinical laboratories, a 130-square-meter amphitheater conference hall, a 190-square-meter large classroom, academician offices, and activity offices.
The Necropsy Building, which will be constructed independently from the main building, will house a modern anatomy hall enabling one-on-one examinations of animals.
The upcoming Animal Hospital will serve the educational and practical needs of MSKÜ Veterinary Faculty students, as well as the public of Muğla. It will also provide healthcare services to animal owners from surrounding districts and neighboring provinces. Designed with functional and compact architecture, the hospital aims to make a significant contribution to animal health services in the region and become one of the exemplary centers among similar veterinary hospitals in Turkey. - MUĞLA
