Turkey took to the streets on the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 to commemorate its martyrs and to emphasize once again the epic of national will. After the day-long commemoration events, a meaningful unity took place throughout the country at midnight.
In line with the planning made by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, the salutes that kept the nation's spirit of resistance alive during the coup attempt were echoed at the same time on the 10th anniversary. At exactly 00.13 on the night between July 15 and July 16, the sela was recited simultaneously in all mosques across Türkiye.
After the recited selas, the minaret lights (cheers) of the mosques will be left on until the morning prayer in memory of the historical night. In line with the decision taken, the main mosques in the provincial and district centers and the mosques close to the squares where commemoration events are held will be kept open for citizens to worship and visit throughout the night.
