AK Party Balıkesir Provincial Chairman Mehmet Aydemir, in his message published on the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, stated that July 15 was a historical turning point in which the Turkish nation claimed democracy, independence and national will. Aydemir said, "July 15 is a blessed resistance in which our nation broke the chains that were intended to be placed on its will and claimed its independence at the expense of its life."

Stating that July 15 was not only the prevention of a coup attempt, but also a historical democracy lesson that the Turkish nation gave to the whole world, Aydemir said that Balıkesir stood as one in the squares that night, befitting the spirit of Kuvayimilliye.

"The nation won that night, the loser was betrayal"

Stating that the courage shown by the nation on the night of July 15 went down in the history of world democracy, Aydemir said:

"Exactly 10 years ago, the treacherous FETO terrorist organization, which wanted to seize our state, again pointed its weapon at our nation. However, there was a fact that they could not calculate; this dear nation had such great faith and a strong conscience that it would not accept captivity. Millions who took to the squares with the determined leadership of our President and Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, showed only their hearts against tanks, planes and weapons. That night, the winner was the nation, the loser was "On the night of July 15, not only was a coup attempt prevented, but it was also declared to the whole world that the Republic of Turkey was not abandoned, the call to prayer could not be silenced, our flag could not be lowered and the national will could never be surrendered."

At the end of his message, Aydemir commemorated the martyrs of July 15 with mercy and gratitude and used the following statements:

"If we can live in peace and security today, we owe it to our heroes who sacrificed their lives and walked to martyrdom on the night of July 15. I commemorate our 252 heroes who were martyred for the sake of the country, especially Ömer Halisdemir, with mercy, gratitude and prayers, and I express my gratitude to our veterans. We will protect the trust of our martyrs until the end, and continue to transfer the spirit of July 15 to future generations. We have not forgotten, we will not forget, we will not let them forget.
