The fire, which broke out in the agricultural area where avocado gardens are located in Alanya district of Antalya, was taken under control and extinguished in a short time with the intervention of the teams from air and land.
The fire occurred around 13:00 in Alanya's Yeniköy District. Forest Management Directorate teams were dispatched to the region upon the notice of citizens who saw the fire breaking out in the agricultural area where avocado gardens are located, for an unknown reason. The fire was intervened by air and land with 1 helicopter, 2 water tankers, 1 water supply vehicle and 1 first response vehicle. Additionally, 1 technical staff, 2 forest conservation officers and 11 forest workers participated in the extinguishing activities.
With the coordinated action of the teams, the flames were taken under control and extinguished in a short time before they spread to the surrounding agricultural areas. While cooling activities were carried out in the region after the fire, according to initial findings, approximately 2 decares of agricultural land was damaged.
