Ankara Governor Yakup Canbolat published a message on the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Governor Canbolat stated that July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day preserves its place in memories as one of the most meaningful turning points in history, where the nation resolutely defends its independence, democracy, national will and the survival of the state.
Reminding that the treacherous coup attempt targeting the country was eliminated thanks to the unwavering will of the beloved nation, the determined stance of the state and the sacrifice of the security forces, Canbolat stated that the nation, with its men and women, young and old, demonstrated its love of homeland, commitment to democracy and determination to protect the national will in a way that set an example to the whole world.
Underlining that the national consciousness displayed that night was one of the most meaningful indicators of the strong stance that the nation has shown throughout history even in the most difficult times, Canbolat noted that democracy is the strongest manifestation of the nation's will.
Canbolat included the following statements in his message:
"Acting with this consciousness, our beloved nation has protected the future of our country by acting in unity and solidarity against all kinds of threats, with the strength it has received from the past and the spirit of solidarity nourished by the ancient state tradition. This noble stance will continue to be our greatest strength today and tomorrow, as it has throughout history. It is our common duty to protect the trust of our martyrs, to always remember the sacrifices of our veterans and to carry our country to a stronger future in every field. We hope that this meaningful day will lead to the strengthening of our unity and solidarity." I commemorate with mercy our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the indivisible integrity of our homeland, the peace and security of our nation, express our gratitude to our heroic veterans, and salute our beloved nation with respect for its national will, democracy and independence."
