The Akasya Durağı series, which was once one of the most watched productions in Turkish television history and aired between 2008 and 2012, came to the fore again after many years with the polemic between the actors. The statements made by Balamir Emren, who played the character "Mert" in the series, in a program caused controversy.
While Emren said about Melek Baykal, who played the character "Taxi Driver Melahat" in the series, "I would lose my energy when I saw her in the mornings," he claimed that Baykal did not talk to the late actor Zeki Alasya, who is remembered for his character "Nuri Baba", after the first season.
Following these words, Zeki Alasya's wife Jülide Alasya published a written statement and denied the allegations. Alasya said, "There was never any hostility between Zeki and Melek. On the contrary, Melek was one of Zeki's most valuable friends for many years." he said.
On the other hand, the statement from Melek Baykal was not delayed. Reacting to Balamir Emren with a statement on his social media account, he said, "Is it worth making claims that do not reflect the truth after 15 years? From now on, do not mention my name or my professional life again." he said.
