CHP Bilecik Provincial General Assembly members issued a statement saying, "We consider our Provincial Chairman Ali Özdemir, elected by the democratic preferences of our organization, and our Chairman Özgür Özel, elected by the will of our congress delegates, as legitimate will and support them to the end."
CHP Bilecik Provincial General Assembly members announced their support for Ali Özdemir, who was removed from his position as CHP Bilecik Provincial Chairman, and CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, at a press conference they organized.
The press statement, made at the CHP Bilecik Provincial Headquarters building, was read by CHP Bilecik Provincial General Assembly Group Spokesperson İsmail Hakkı Elmas. Elmas included the following statements in his declaration:
"As members of the CHP Bilecik Provincial General Assembly, we believe that the most fundamental strength of our party lies in the will of the organization and democracy. We consider our provincial chairman Ali Özdemir, elected by the democratic preferences of our organization, and our Chairman Özgür Özel, elected by the will of our congress delegates, as legitimate will and support them to the end."
We do not accept the assessments referred to as 'absolute nullity' in the public eye; we believe that the future of our party must be shaped on the basis of the organization's will and intra-party democracy. We respectfully announce to the public that we will continue to defend the unity, integrity of the CHP, and the elected will of our organization."
