Hakkari Governorship hosted a dinner in honor of martyrs' families and veterans within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Speaking at the program, which started with the recitation of the Holy Quran at the teacher's house, Governor and Deputy Mayor İbrahim Taşyapan said that July 15 was a historical turning point when the nation claimed democracy, independence and national will.
Stating that 10 years have passed since the coup attempt, Taşyapan said:
"I am proud to be together with the families, children, mothers and fathers and spouses of our martyrs. Our nation wrote its name in history in golden letters and signed a great epic by protecting its state, flag and national will on the night of July 15, 2016. Our beloved martyrs sacrificed their lives, and our heroic veterans gained an exceptional place in the hearts of our nation with their sacrifices and courage. Our duty is to preserve the cherished memories of our martyrs. "It is our duty to keep them alive, to commemorate them with mercy and to convey this sacred struggle to the next generations in the right way. It is our duty to not forget the treachery committed and not to let them be forgotten."
Wishing that the spirit of unity, solidarity, brotherhood and solidarity in these lands will last until the end of time, Taşyapan said:
"It is our duty to protect our climate of peace and to ensure that peace, trust and prosperity are permanent all around our country with the successful completion of the 'Terrorism-Free Turkey' activities, and to work diligently for the future of our homeland, our nation and our children. On this occasion, we commemorate with respect and mercy all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the indivisible integrity of our homeland and the peace and security of our nation, especially our July 15 martyrs, and we wish health, peace and prosperity to our heroic veterans." I wish you well and I would like to thank all our guests who attended this meaningful meeting."
Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Hakan Tatlı, Hakkari University Rector Prof. attended the program. Dr. Musa Gençcelep, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Cafer Öz, Provincial Police Chief Attila Ayata, deputy governors and institution chiefs attended.
