In the case concerning the two young men who lost their lives in an armed attack by their adversaries during iftar time in Gaziantep's Şehitkamil district, the prosecutor, presenting his final opinion, demanded that the defendants be punished for the crime of "intentional killing".
The 6th hearing of the case regarding the murders of Fatih Tekin and Enes Şimşek, who lost their lives as a result of an armed attack by their adversaries in Gaziantep's Şehitkamil district, was held at the Gaziantep 1st High Criminal Court. Six defendants, on trial for "intentional killing", along with the victims' families and their lawyers, and the defendants' lawyers, were present at the hearing. The victims' relatives demanded that the perpetrators receive the harshest possible punishment.
The public prosecutor, in his final opinion, demanded that all defendants and the children involved in the crime be punished for the crime of "intentional killing" for their actions against each victim. The prosecutor also requested that the provisions for unjust provocation be applied to the defendants.
During the hearing, the arrested defendants Ali Hamza K., Cuma K., Ömer Yasin K., Salman K., and the children involved in the crime, B.K. and M.S.P., reiterated their previous defenses, stating that they did not accept the charges against them, that they were innocent, and that they did not agree with the final opinion, requesting their acquittal and release.
The court panel decided to continue the detention of the arrested defendants and to grant time for the preparation of defenses against the prosecutor's final opinion, postponing the hearing to a later date.
The incident occurred on March 23, 2025, in Sam Mahallesi, Şehitkamil district. During iftar time, the vehicle carrying Fatih Tekin (33) and his relative Enes Şimşek (25) was cut off by individuals with whom they had a feud. An argument broke out between the two who exited the vehicle and the individuals. The suspects, estimated to be 3-4 people, fired at Fatih Tekin and Enes Şimşek with a pump-action shotgun. Fatih Tekin died at the scene from the pellets that hit his body, while seriously injured Enes Şimşek could not be saved despite all interventions at Şehitkamil State Hospital, where he was taken. - GAZİANTEP
