1600 workplaces were delivered after the earthquake in Malatya - Last Minute

Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz stated that a total of 1600 workplaces in the city were delivered to their rightful owners within the scope of the reconstruction activities carried out after the earthquakes on February 6, 2023, centered in Kahramanmaraş.

In his speech at the Provincial Coordination Board Meeting held at Malatya Congress and Culture Center, Yavuz said that 62 of the 671 projects carried out by public institutions and municipalities in 2026 have been completed, and 108 new investments have been included in the program since April 16.

Stating that the total size of public investments carried out in the city has reached 122 billion 550 million liras, Yavuz stated that the allowance allocated for these projects in 2026 is 37 billion 683 million liras.

Stating that he carried out intensive activities with all institutions of the state to revive Malatya after the earthquake, Yavuz noted that significant progress has been made under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, AFAD and other institutions.

Emphasizing that the normalization process has begun in the city, Yavuz said:

"We have delivered 900 workplaces in industrial zones so far. In total, we have delivered 1600 workplaces to the rightful owners. We have also started the delivery process of 2600 workplaces. We expect our rightful owners to receive their keys as soon as possible. Container cities and commercial container areas will also be off the city agenda within the planned process."

Referring to the activities carried out in the heavily damaged reserve areas in the first period of the earthquake, Yavuz stated that approximately 400 hectares of land in 69 reserve areas were evacuated in a short time.

Stating that Malatya has now entered a period of development again, Yavuz said, "From now on, we will talk about tourism, trade, industry, production, employment and exports. We will build a cleaner, more peaceful and stronger Malatya together." he said.
