Breeders in Kıyıdüzü village, part of Tatvan district, who earn their living from small ruminant husbandry, lead their flocks to the fertile pastures on the foothills of Mount Nemrut with the first light of day. During this journey, undertaken twice a day, the flocks cover a total of 15 kilometers of dirt road. In the evening, the sheep return to the village, where they are milked by women. This cycle continues to preserve the livestock tradition passed down from generation to generation in the region.
During dry summer days, the dust clouds rising as hundreds of sheep move simultaneously along the dirt road, combine with the magnificent silhouette of Mount Nemrut to create beautiful scenes.
