Within the scope of the investigation carried out into the death of Edanur Yaman, who died in the hospital where she was treated after giving birth in a private hospital in ŞANLIURFA, gynecology and obstetrics specialist Dr. Münevver Zehra Davutoğlu was sent to prison.
The incident took place in a private hospital in Şanlıurfa. Allegedly, Edanur Yaman gave birth in a private hospital at 11.30 on July 14, 2026. As her health condition worsened after cesarean delivery, the patient was referred to Harran University Hospital for further examination and treatment on July 15, 2026. Yaman, who was treated in intensive care, died at around 01:00 today, despite all the interventions of the doctors.
Following the incident, a judicial investigation was launched by the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Münevver Zehra Davutoğlu was arrested and sent to prison on the charge of "causing death by negligence" in the court on duty, where she was referred after her procedures at the police station.
