Siirt's Şirvan Mayor Necat Cellek, who died at the age of 60 in the hospital where he was treated in Istanbul, was sent off on his last journey.
Cellek's body, taken from the morgue of Siirt Training and Research Hospital, was brought to Pir Muhammed Kufrevi Mosque in Shirvan.
After the funeral prayer performed here, Cellek's body was buried in Sultan Memduh Cemetery in Tillo district, according to his will.
Cellek's family and relatives, Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya, AK Party Siirt Deputy Mervan Gül, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Uğur Özmen, Provincial Police Chief Mehmet Özdemir, AK Party Provincial Chairman Abdulhekim Gider, district and town mayors and citizens attended the funeral.
