US President Donald Trump stated that he gave up charging fees for crossing the Strait of Hormuz and said, "I have decided to replace the 20 percent payment previously announced by the USA with the trade and investment agreements that the Gulf countries will make in the USA."
US President Donald Trump took a step back regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships except Iran, and said, "The reason why Iran is excluded is its lying, violent and malicious government that has dragged the country into complete destruction."
Reminding that the USA will impose a full-scale blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "However, this blockade will only cover ships going to or coming from Iranian ports or ships carrying Iranian cargo."
Referring to the 20 percent payment that the USA will receive from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "After our extremely productive talks with Middle East leaders, I have decided to replace the 20 percent payment previously announced by the USA with the trade and investment agreements that the Gulf countries will make in the USA. These investments will be very large and will also be extremely beneficial for the future of the Gulf countries."
Stating that the USA has hosted the largest dollar-denominated investments received by any country throughout history, Trump said, "This figure will grow even further with new investments. Factories, production facilities and equipment on a historical scale will come to the USA, and thus millions of new, high-paying jobs will be created. America is winning again, more than ever before."
Arguing that Iran killed thousands of protesters, Trump said, "The days of Iran killing hundreds of thousands of people, including 52 thousand protesters, are over. Most importantly, Iran will never have nuclear weapons." -WASHINGTON
