US President Donald Trump gave up his decision to get a 20 percent share for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Stating that the Strait of Hormuz is open to international ship traffic, Trump stated that Iran-related ships will not be allowed to pass. In his statement on social media, Trump said, "We will impose a full blockade on Iran, but this will only apply to ships arriving and departing from Iranian ports or ships carrying anything related to Iranian cargo."
"Based on our very productive discussions with Middle Eastern leaders, I have decided that the various Gulf States will enter into Trade and Investment Agreements with the United States to replace the 20% US Reimbursement Fee (Strait transit fee). These investments will be enormous, but will also be extraordinarily beneficial for them and their future," the US President said. he said.
Donald Trump also said, "These new investments will increase that number even further, and we will see factories, plants, and equipment flocking to the United States at historic levels, creating millions of high-paying American jobs! America is winning again, winning like never before." he said.
