Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani received a condolence phone call from US President Donald Trump.
According to the statement made by the Qatar Emirate Council, Trump expressed his condolences to Emir Sheikh Tamim on the death of his father, Emir Sheikh Hamed bin Khalifa Al Thani, during the meeting.
Emir Sheikh Tamim also thanked Trump for his condolences.
In the statement made by the Qatar Emirate Council, it was announced that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who had been treated for a long time, passed away at the age of 74 and was buried in Lusail Cemetery in Doha.
On the other hand, 4 days of official mourning were declared throughout the country due to the death of the former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamed bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who served as the Emir of Qatar between 1995 and 2013, handed over the administration to his son Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in 2013.
