WASHINGTON, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Central Command announced that it had intercepted three commercial vessels attempting to breach its naval blockade against Iran.
The Command stated in a statement on social media platform X on Thursday that U.S. forces instructed the three vessels to change course, neutralized one vessel that disregarded warnings, and boarded another vessel to conduct an operation.
U.S. forces had resumed blocking maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports as of Tuesday.
The statement said, "The Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters remain free and open, except for vessels attempting to violate the U.S. 'steel wall' blockade."
U.S. forces' attacks on Iranian targets continue unabated after U.S. President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire reached in April had ended.
