CHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül demanded an increase in the minimum wage.
Sarıgül, at the press conference he held in the Parliament, said that there are problems awaiting urgent solutions.
Stating that citizens are waiting for the laws to be passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Sarıgül argued that a regulation should be made regarding "bounced checks" in the Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws for the Effective and Efficient Operation of the Judiciary, publicly known as the "12th Judicial Package".
Sarıgül, who wanted regulations regarding the personal rights and operating hours of police officers and the status of PTT employees, claimed that farmers were waiting for medicine, diesel and seed support.
Claiming that retirees and minimum wage earners cannot make ends meet, Sarıgül said, "The minimum wage is expected to be increased. It is imperative that the lowest pension is not lower than the minimum wage. Thousands of civil servants are also waiting for an increase in welfare for civil servants." he said.
