The forest fire that broke out in the Besnili location of Bulutoğlu District of Kahramanmaraş's Onikişubat district was intervened with 5 water tankers, 3 water supply vehicles, 2 first response vehicles, 2 flame extinguishing helicopters and 35 personnel. While the flames, which were first responded to within 15 minutes, were brought under control after approximately an hour of activities, cooling activities continue in the region.
The forest fire, which broke out in the Besnili location of Bulutoğlu District of Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, was taken under control by the air and land intervention of the teams.
According to the information received from Kahramanmaraş Regional Directorate of Forestry, the report of flames reached the 112 Emergency Call Center at 10.35 on July 14, 2026. Following the notice, 5 water tankers, 3 water supply vehicles, 2 first response vehicles, 2 flame extinguishing helicopters, 1 service vehicle, 4 technical personnel and a total of 35 personnel were dispatched to the region.
The fire, to which the teams responded first at 10.50, was taken under control at 11.45 as a result of intensive activities. It was reported that cooling activities are continuing in the region against the risk of re-flare.
While an investigation was initiated to determine the cause of the fire, it was learned that the air temperature in the region during the flames was measured as 32 degrees and the wind speed was measured as 13 kilometers per hour.
Authorities warned citizens to be careful about forest fires, especially in the summer months, and to inform 112 Emergency Call Center and ALO 177 Forest Fire Hotline if smoke or flames are seen.
