The flood rising from the historical Nasrullah Qadi Mosque in Nasrullah Square was captured by citizens with their mobile phone cameras. Citizens gathered in the square experienced emotional moments during the flood.
Isra Alwandawi, who has been living in Kastamonu for 15 years, where she came from Kirkuk, Iraq, said that she came to Nasrullah Square by specifically waiting for the time when the sela would be recited. Stating that the night of July 15 should not be forgotten, Alwandawi said, "The reason I am here has a very emotional meaning. I deliberately came to this place at this time. I wanted to witness the reading of Sela. We will not forget this night. I wanted to be here because it is the saddest day."
Stating that he experienced a great intensity of emotion while the Sela was being recited, Alwandawi said, "It was an indescribable thing, it was very emotional. May the souls of our martyrs rest in peace, may they rest in peace. May God keep you in our care. One has a hard time not to cry. Even I had a hard time restraining myself. I came here.
