The child, who was injured as a result of the attack of a owned dog in Niğde's Çiftlik district, was treated at the hospital.
According to the information received, 2-year-old Egemen Asaf Çakmak was attacked by a dog in a garden while he was passing by a house with his mother in Divarlı town yesterday.
The child, who was rescued by the surrounding people, was taken to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Training and Research Hospital by the medical teams who came to the scene upon notice.
It was learned that Çakmak, who was injured in the dog attack, received 22 stitches on his head.
Mother Esra Pınar Çakmak told the AA reporter that the garden gate of her neighbor's house was open while she was walking on the road with her nephew and son.
Explaining that he thought the dog in the garden was tied, Çakmak said:
"The dog suddenly attacked, I thought it was normally tied, but it turned out it wasn't. When it attacked, it grabbed the little girl and I pushed that child. After that, it attacked me. After I fell, I took Egemen away and attacked his head directly. When he attacked his head, I threw two stones, but it did no good. He attacked me about a month ago. I said, 'sister, either catch the dog or throw it out or do something'. They did not listen to me. I am complaining about him. What happened to my child today will happen to someone else tomorrow." The same thing will happen to her child. The neighborhood is also complaining. It hurts me. I fainted when I saw her that day. She had been in intensive care for two days. The stray dogs should be collected and the owned dogs should be checked."
Çakmak added that the dog bit the child in the head and they were afraid that the brain would be damaged.
