July 15 commemoration program: 'Martyrs and veterans are the honor of the nation' - Last Minute

The 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Program was held by the Turkish Veterans and Martyrs' Families Foundation.

Making the opening speech of the program held at the July 15 Martyrs' Monument with the participation of the Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, President of the Turkish Veterans and Martyrs' Families Foundation, Lokman Aylar, emphasized that July 15 is a day that is engraved in the memory of the nations and is told from generation to generation.

Stating that the main goal of the coup attempt was to destroy the thousand-year-old state tradition, to collapse Türkiye from within and to make this beloved country open to external interventions, Aylar said, "This nation has never accepted captivity throughout history. It did not do it in Çanakkale, it did not do it in Sakarya, it did not do it in Dumlupınar. On the night of July 15, this nation did not and will not accept captivity. Because independence is in the essence of this nation. Independence is in the soul of this nation." "Millions of people had no weapons in their hands that night." he said.

Stating that veteranhood is a symbol of loyalty, love and love of independence, Aylar said, "The family of martyrs and our veterans and martyrs are the honor of this nation. It is the honor of this nation. It is the duty of this nation to serve them." he said.

Recalling that he took to the streets 10 years ago to defend the will of the citizens, the freedom and liberty of the nation, Aylar said, "They gave their lives, gave blood, and limbs for their state, homeland, and nation. They were not offended by this. They felt honor and dignity. Because they know that being a martyr and being a veteran is both an honor and honor for this nation." he said.

BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici said that if people live in peace, security, happiness and independence under the crescent and star flag, they owe it to the martyrs and veterans.

Destici emphasized that, thanks to the heroic stance of the nation, the martyrs and thousands of veterans who drank the sherbet of martyrdom protected Türkiye from FETO's coup and invasion attempt, and said, "Our esteemed President's astute stance and foresight played the leading role. Likewise, it was also very valuable that our political parties came together against the coup and took a common stance." he said.

In the program where Rahime Bulut, the mother of July 15 martyr Fırat Bulut, also expressed her feelings, Keçiören District Governor Mehmet Akçay, Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan and Keçiören AK Party District Chairman Ömer Faruk İslam also made a speech.

Relatives of martyrs and veterans also attended the program.
