The 15 July photography exhibition prepared by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education within the scope of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day events was opened to visitors. Istanbul Deputy Governor Mustafa Kaya, Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Medet Ekşi, institution administrators, students and guests attended the opening of the exhibition. It was stated that the aim was to convey the Turkish nation's determination to defend democracy, national will and independence to future generations through photographs documenting the events that took place on the night of July 15, 2016. After the ribbon cutting and music concert, those who attended the opening visited the exhibition and examined the photographs taken during the coup attempt.

Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Medet Ekşi said, "July 15 is the date when our nation took to the streets with this spirit and shattered the plans of the evil forces in unity and solidarity. July 15 is the turning point of the resurrection. We, educators, have great duties in keeping the spirit of resurrection alive. We will continue to convey and introduce the honorable lives and exemplary memories of our martyrs and veterans to new generations. In order to keep the consciousness of being a nation alive, not to forget the heroes who resisted the occupation and not to let them be forgotten." We have a duty. We will use not just one day, but every day of the year, with social and cultural activities to carry the spirit of July 15 to the future. We have seen that the people who were manipulated by the treacherous organization that attempted to invade our country were able to do all the evil they wanted. Those who set their sights on our country first invaded our minds. The damage done to our country by those who rent their minds is obvious. We; "We will not forget. Those who try to steal the future of our country with people whose will has been stolen will never be successful. We will continue to work with love and enthusiasm for our future by continuing our march towards the future with the consciousness of independence. On this occasion, I celebrate the 15th of July Democracy and National Unity Day and remember our martyrs and veterans with mercy and gratitude."
'THE NATION PROTECTED ITS WILL, IT PROVIDED ITS COUNTRY, IT PROVIDED ITS LEADER'
Speaking while cutting the opening ribbon of the exhibition, Deputy Governor Mustafa Kaya said, "July 15, one of the most important dates of our country and our nation, was one of the most important indicators that this nation defended its national will. A great and treacherous attempt took place. This attempt was made by the people we raised from among ourselves. They surrendered their minds and will to other places, and with their guidance, they bombed our Parliament with our own cannon, our own rifle, our own plane, our own tank, and destroyed our people." We lived through a night that perhaps this nation would never have thought of, and none of us would have thought that this nation would come out so traitorous. The nation defended its will, defended its country, defended its democracy, and showed a great example of heroism, giving 253 martyrs. It showed once again that this nation cannot achieve anything with the guidance of others; I hope it does not have to show such a thing again, but it will always do so when necessary. We will commemorate its 10th anniversary with this exhibition, and we must not forget it. We need to constantly convey this national memory to the younger generations, as in every example of heroism. For this reason, I congratulate all our teachers, students and the national education community who contributed to the preparation of this exhibition. I pray that God will grant us good luck and live in unity and solidarity. he said.
