July 15 veterans came together at the "10th Year of Betrayal: July 15 Coup Attempt Photography Exhibition" prepared by Istanbul Medipol University from the Anadolu Agency archives.
The veterans who came to visit the exhibition opened yesterday in the foyer area of the south campus of the university, Medipol University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk welcomed him at the door.
Rector Göktürk and the group consisting of veterans visited the exhibition area and watched the video on July 15.
Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Ali Büyükaslan told the AA correspondent that the exhibition was a tool to keep the memory of that night alive.
Hoping that there will be no repeat of July 15, wishing mercy to the martyrs and healing to the veterans, Büyükaslan stated that he thanked Anadolu Agency for the photographs.
July 15 veteran Safiye Bayat, who attended the event, said, "July 15 was one of the very special moments when the nation stood by its will. We showed a very good stance." he said.
Stating that they tried to live July 15, keep it alive and not let it be forgotten, Bayat said that they experienced emotional moments when they saw the photographs in the exhibition, that they returned to that day again, and that he thanked Medipol University for the exhibition.
Stating that July 15 was a milestone, veteran Gürbüz Akın stated that they showed their will in Çanakkale, where the homeland lands were not surrendered, on July 15.
Akın said, "We will not forget July 15, we will not let it be forgotten. Even though 10 years have passed, we still continue with the same pain." he said.
After taking a souvenir photo at the exhibition, Rector Güntürk and the veterans accompanying him had dinner.
