The photography exhibition titled '15 July Memory and Remembrance', prepared within the scope of the 10th anniversary of '15 July Democracy and National Unity Day', was opened at IZMIR Adnan Menderes Airport. Izmir Governor Süleyman Elban, in his speech, said, "One of the most important aspects of this story is that while those who carried out the coup were brutally throwing the planes, anti-aircraft guns, cannons and bullets that this nation entrusted to them, on this nation, this nation won this victory by fighting only with its body and heart, without using any weapons."
In cooperation with the Presidency Directorate of Communications and the 15 July Association, a photography exhibition titled '15 July Memory and Remembrance' was prepared. The exhibition was presented to visitors at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Domestic Departure Terminal. Izmir Governor Süleyman Elban, Aegean Army and Garrison Commander General İrfan Özsert, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Metin Düz, Provincial Police Chief Celal Sel, Provincial Director of National Education Ömer Yahşi and guests attended the opening ceremony. After the opening, protocol members visited the exhibition containing photographs depicting the events of the night of July 15, 2016. It was stated that the exhibition, which includes photographs reflecting the night of July 15 as well as memorial walls prepared in different languages, aims to convey the struggle against the coup attempt to local and foreign visitors. It was announced that the exhibition, prepared under the coordination of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, was organized with the aim of commemorating the martyrs, transferring the sacrifices of the veterans to future generations, keeping the spirit of July 15 alive and strengthening the awareness of democracy, and that it can be visited until July 20.
Governor of Izmir, Süleyman Elban, in his speech at the opening, said, "This coup was suppressed and repelled in a very short time by the strong and determined leadership of our President and our heroic nation with high foresight and wisdom under his leadership, with the stance and struggle against it. One of the most important aspects of this story is that while those who carried out the coup were brutally throwing the planes, anti-aircraft guns, cannons and bullets entrusted to them by this nation, on this nation, this nation, "They won this victory by fighting only with their body and heart, without using any weapons or counter tools. Therefore, our duty is to keep this heroic struggle alive and alive by constantly telling it."
Stating that they organize such events so that the younger generations do not face a similar betrayal, Governor Elban continued his words as follows:

July 15 Association Board Member Fatih Tuna said, "Our nation fought to the last drop of its blood against traitors on the lowest night in history and did not allow the coup plotters to pass. 253 of our citizens died as a martyr in that treacherous coup attempt. Many of our citizens became veterans. On this occasion, I commemorate all our martyrs with mercy and gratitude."
Mehtap Kaya, Head of the Support Services Department of the Presidency of the Presidency of Communications, said, "With this exhibition, which is opened to visitors simultaneously in 6 important airports of our country today, we aim to remind the unique courage and sacrifice of our beloved nation by protecting its democracy, independence and national will on the night of July 15. At the same time, we plan to bring together the common memory with local and foreign guests visiting our country. Each photograph in this exhibition, prepared with the theme 'Our will, our victory', represents the courage and sacrifice of our nation." "They are a strong memory record of the spirit of unity and solidarity, love of the homeland and unwavering devotion to the national will," he said.
