Edirne 15 July Association President Veysel Güner published a message on the occasion of 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Güner stated that July 15 was not only the day when a coup attempt was prevented, but also a historical turning point when the will of the nation defended democracy and independence.
Stating that the unity and solidarity shown by the nation on the night of July 15, 2016 went down in the history of democracy, Güner said, "On the night of July 15, 2016, while one of the darkest nights of our history was desired, our nation stood up for democracy, independence and homeland with the unique courage and determination it showed. That night, millions of our citizens, from women to men, from young to old, stood together as one, did not let down our flag, and guided the future of our country." he said.
Stating that he showed the whole world that night that the will of the nation will not surrender to any power, Güner noted that July 15 went down in history as the epic of democracy.
Emphasizing that July 15 should be conveyed correctly to future generations, Güner stated that they will continue their activities to keep the spirit of national unity and solidarity alive, strengthen the awareness of democracy and protect the memories of the martyrs.
In his message, Güner stated that he commemorated the July 15 martyrs and all the martyrs with mercy and gratitude, and wished the veterans a healthy and peaceful life.
