AK Party MKYK member and Samsun Deputy Çiğdem Karaaslan published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Karaaslan emphasized that he stood against the coup plotters in the July 15 FETO coup attempt at the expense of the nation's lives.
Pointing out that the coup attempt was eliminated by the will of the nation and the determined stance of the state, Karaaslan continued as follows:
"On the night of July 15, 2016, the coup plotter traitors, who aimed at Türkiye's independence and future, pointed guns at our nation, and wanted to drag our country into chaos by targeting the most critical institutions of our state, suffered an unexpected defeat with the power they received from our beloved nation's unwavering will, courage, love of homeland and faith. That dark night turned into a democracy epic in which our nation defended democracy, independence and its future. From seven to seventy, young and old, "Our nation, with its men and women, displayed an epic resistance in the squares and streets of the cities upon the call of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and our nation, which shielded itself from bullets and fearlessly stood in front of tanks, defended its homeland and state at the expense of its lives. The forty-year plan of the coup plotters collapsed overnight with the determined will and spirit of our state and nation, and the victory went to Türkiye and the Turkish nation."
Karaaslan emphasized that the nation said "stop" to the dark plan of the tutelage centers on July 15 and said:
"The purpose of the July 15 coup attempt was to leave Türkiye's recent success story unfinished, to interrupt its journey of democracy and development, and to destroy the gains it has achieved in every field with stable governance. Ultimately, our nation said stop to the dark plan of the tutelage centers, which aimed to eliminate our country's determination and will to draw its own direction, and did not allow the attempt to surround Türkiye. In its 10th year, the meaning of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day and the message it conveys are as much as the first day." "The period of coups in Türkiye ended that day. Under the astute leadership of our President and Chairman, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has not only strengthened its will to solve its own problems, but has become one of the important actors of peace, stability and solution in its region and in the world. There is no turning back from this march."
Explaining that they are taking firm steps towards the goals of the Turkish Century, Karaaslan said, "We will further strengthen our unity and solidarity in this historical process, in which our country strengthens its position as the central country day by day, despite all the situations experienced in our region and in the world. We will never compromise our determination to save our country from the half-century-old scourge of terrorism, and we will continue to take the necessary steps with determination, worthy of the cherished memory of our martyrs and the sacrifices of our veterans. As we leave behind the pain caused by terrorism, brotherhood, peace and trust will prevail." "We will realize our ideal of a stronger Turkey, because we know that the understanding of 'The will is ours, the victory is ours' is the greatest strength of our nation. I commemorate our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country on the 10th anniversary of the victory of the national will, and I express my gratitude to every member of our nation who stood against the coup plotters at the expense of their lives and did not allow the attempt of treason." he said.
