The 'Memory and Souvenir 15 July' photography exhibition, prepared within the scope of the 10th anniversary of the 15 July coup attempt, was opened at Istanbul Airport. Local and foreign passengers will be able to visit the exhibition, which opens simultaneously in 6 major airports of Türkiye.
Within the scope of the 10th anniversary programs of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day, the 'Memory and Souvenir 15 July' photography exhibition was opened at Türkiye's 6 major airports under the coordination of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications and in cooperation with the 15 July Association. Istanbul Airport Civil Administration Chief Assoc. Prof. attended the opening ceremony held on the departures floor of Istanbul Airport. Dr. İlker Haktankaçmaz, Presidential Directorate of Communications International Media Coordinator Gözde Kirişçioğlu, Istanbul Airport operator İGA Deputy CEO Mehmet Büyükkaytan, 15 July Association President İsmail Hakkı Turunç, 15 July veteran Mehmet Emin Ertaş and guests attended. The exhibition includes shots of what happened during the July 15 coup attempt and photographs of citizens who fought against the coup attempt. The exhibition can be visited by local and foreign passengers.
Speaking at the ceremony, 15 July Veteran Mehmet Emin Ertaş said, "In 1071, God Almighty made Anatolia our homeland in Manzikert. In 1453, we closed an era and opened another. With the Young Republic, we left our homeland indivisible. Unfortunately, we have faced a coup every 10 years for the last 50 years. Thank God, the last one was in 2016, as the Turkish Nation and the Turkish people." "Thieves who stole military uniforms will be remembered as terrorists everywhere. This nation made this clear in 2016. These terrorists could not stand against this honorable nation for 40 hours, and they will not be able to stand against it. We are fortunate that we have martyrs and veterans for the sake of this land. We will make our children and children more prepared than ever for the sake of this martyrdom." he said.
'OUR STANCE IS THE MESSAGE WE WILL GIVE TO THE GENERATIONS'
Underlining that there is freedom in the genes of the Turkish nation, 15 July Association President İsmail Hakkı Turunç said, "We have explained how our love of the homeland, our love of the state, our love of the flag and our understanding of freedom should be. The understanding of freedom is at a very high level in our genes. We are not an ordinary nation. We are not the children of an ordinary nation. Our ancestors built civilization in many geographies of the world in the name of humanity, beauty, civilization. I hope this understanding of ours will pass on to the generations after us, our understanding of freedom and our country, "Our understanding of protecting our values will go even further. Our stance on this issue, our understanding and the message we will give to the next generations are very important," he said.
