Mehmet Akın Doğan, President of Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture, came together as chambers of agriculture and announced a joint recommendation on irrigation labor wages. Doğan said, "The determined recommended wage tariffs have been prepared considering the common interests of our producers and irrigation workers."
A joint meeting was held with the participation of Seyhan Chamber of Agriculture, Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture and Tarsus Chamber of Agriculture in order to determine the agricultural irrigation labor fees to be applied in the 2026 irrigation season.
At the meeting, the irrigation labor fees to be applied throughout the 2026 irrigation season for corn, soybean, cotton and all similar field products irrigated through the channels of the State Hydraulic Works (DSI) and Irrigation Associations were signed as a recommendation decision.
The recommended fee schedules determined in line with the decision taken at the joint meeting were announced as follows:
"Kabala (Per Decare) Irrigation Fee is 110 TL, Daily Daily Irrigation Fee is 3 thousand TL."
Making evaluations on the subject, Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture President Mehmet Akın Doğan said that the determined wages are important in terms of continuing production without interruption, protecting the reward of labor and creating a common understanding of application in the field.
Mayor Doğan said, "Irrigation is one of the most important stages of production. We held joint consultations with our Seyhan and Tarsus Chambers of Agriculture to determine the wages to be applied in irrigation labor at a reasonable level that takes into account both the costs of our producers and the sweat of our workers. This decision is a recommendation and will contribute to the unity of practice in our region. The determined recommendation wage tariffs have been prepared by taking into account the common interests of our producers and irrigation workers."
Drawing attention to the importance of joint action in the agricultural sector, Doğan said, "We attach importance to the cooperation between our institutions so that our farmers can continue their production, irrigation services are carried out without interruption, and our agricultural workers receive compensation for their labor. I hope that the recommended wage tariffs we have determined for the 2026 irrigation season will be beneficial to our producers and irrigation workers." - ADANA
