The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that 57 suspects were caught in operations carried out by the gendarmerie in 26 provinces within the scope of 'fighting against immigrant smuggling', and 43 of them were sent to prison.
According to the statement made on the ministry's virtual media account; 57 suspects were caught in operations coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Immigrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking Department. 43 of the suspects were sent to prison, and judicial control provisions were applied to 14 of them. During the operations, in which unmanned aerial vehicles were also used, 282 vehicles and 22 boats and boat engines were seized. The statement said, "We continue our fight with determination, both on the field and on legal grounds, against the structures that encourage and organize illegal migration routes by making use of superior technologies and advanced monitoring-control systems."
