The statements of the suspects who planned a "resounding action" against the wife of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek have been revealed. In addition, the details of the tip that revealed the suspects' treacherous plan were also obtained.
In the investigation carried out by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Uğur Yılmaz and Yavuz Canbaşı, who were found to be preparing a "sounding action" related to the organization against the wife of the Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, upon a tip-off to CİMER, were arrested.
During the investigation, the suspects made reconnaissance of the target, conducted address and route activities, and unlicensed weapons and 3 million 206 thousand liras in cash were seized during the operations.
The treacherous plan of the suspects was revealed by a report made to CİMER by a person who witnessed the conversation between 4 people at a workplace in Güngören.
The whistleblower stated that these people were people who used aliases and had many criminal records and said, "They were talking about buying tickets abroad. At that time, they mentioned the name Elif Gülşah Gürlek. It caught my attention because the surname of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor was Gürlek. When I learned that Elif Gülşah Gürlek was Akın Gürlek's wife, I made a report."
According to Sabah's news, the whistleblower was subjected to live identification within the framework of the investigation. The tipster identified the person with whom Yavuz Canbaş had a video conversation on his phone as Uğur Yılmaz.
In the continuation of his statement, it was revealed that "During the meeting, the person named Yavuz demanded 250 thousand TL from Uğur regarding the attack against Elif Gülşah Gürlek. Uğur said, 'I will give 1.5 million TL after the job is completed. The money is ready, too.'"
Arrested suspect Uğur Yılmaz, in his statement at the police station, said, "They want to carry out an event similar to the assassination attempt on Elif Gülşah Gürlek, but I have nothing to do with these events. I did not prepare for such an action."
When he was identified by the whistleblower, he said: "There are people around me who are jealous of me and want me to be harmed." made his defense.
Yılmaz, who denied the claim that he said "I will give 1 million 500 thousand TL, I have the money ready" after the attack, but 1 million 748 thousand TL was seized during the search at his home, claimed that he sold his vehicle.
On the other hand, he said that the suspect did not share his phone password and that the reason was private images of himself and his girlfriend.
The other arrested Yavuz Canbaş rejected the allegations that he demanded 250 thousand liras for the attack and that it was rumored that he would be paid 1 million 500 thousand liras when the work was completed.
Canbaş said, "The informant made an unfounded statement due to the argument he had with my brother and participated in the identification to prove this."
On the other hand, as a result of physical and intelligence activities, it was determined that the suspects Uğur Yılmaz and Yavuz Canbaşı were supplying members of the organization between the ages of 18-25 to domestic and foreign organized crime organizations.
