They called K.D. (67) on the phone in AMASYA, introduced themselves as a plainclothes police officer and said, 'Your name was involved in a murder. Hakan A. (30) and Fevzi B. (27), who defrauded by taking jewelery and money worth approximately 2 million TL by saying 'We need to examine your gold and take your fingerprints', were caught in Giresun. The suspects were released on condition of judicial control in court.
The incident took place on July 9 in the Central district Visit town. Hakan A. and Fevzi B., who called K.D. on the phone, introduced themselves as plainclothes police officers. The suspects convinced K.D. by saying, "Your name was involved in a murder. The gold found in your home needs to be examined and fingerprints taken." After the phone call, he came to the house and handed over K.D., 6 bracelets, 2 necklaces, 2 bracelets belonging to his daughter-in-law, as well as jewelry and money worth approximately 2 million TL, consisting of euros, dollars and Turkish lira, to the suspects who introduced themselves as plainclothes police officers. The suspects took the valuables and left the address. Realizing after a while that he had been defrauded, K.D. reported the situation to the gendarmerie. The Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Teams (JASAT), which started operations under the coordination of the Amasya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office upon notice, identified the suspects as a result of technical and physical follow-up. Hakan A. and Fevzi B., who were caught and detained in Giresun during the operation, were brought to Amasya. The jewelery and cash seized during the searches on the suspects were handed over to their owners after being processed by the gendarmerie.
Hakan A. and Fevzi B., whose procedures at the gendarmerie were completed, were released on condition of judicial control by the court to which they were referred on July 10.
