July 15 Coup Attempt was Discussed at ADÜ from the Perspective of International Relations - News

The program titled "15 July Coup Attempt from the Perspective of International Relations in its 10th Year", organized by Adnan Menderes University within the scope of 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day, was held at Atatürk Congress Center Aydın Bey Hall.

After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the recitation of the Holy Quran was performed. Within the scope of the program, a short film on the theme of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day was screened.

ADÜ Rector Prof. made the opening speech of the program. Dr. Bülent Kent stated that the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, 2016 had important consequences not only in Türkiye's recent history, but also in terms of international security, the fight against terrorism, the sovereignty of states and international cooperation. Our Rector Prof. stated that the intervening ten years have revealed that July 15 should be evaluated multidimensionally from the perspective of international relations. Dr. Bülent Kent emphasized that topics such as hybrid threats, cross-border organizations, intelligence sharing, international law and diplomatic relations have become the basic elements of the understanding of security today.

Rector Prof. stated that our beloved nation, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, displayed an epic resistance on the night of July 15 by protecting democracy, national will and independence. Dr. Bülent Kent stated that this struggle is an important example that should be examined in international literature. At the end of his speech, Rector Kent stated that he commemorated the martyrs of July 15 with mercy and gratitude and the veterans with gratitude and thanked those who contributed to the preparation of the program.

Within the scope of the program, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences Prof. Dr. In his speech titled "The Effects of the July 15 Coup Attempt on Turkish Foreign Policy and Security Approaches", Muharrem Ekşi evaluated Türkiye's foreign policy understanding, security strategies and international reflections of the coup attempt.
