AK Party Eskişehir Provincial Chairman Gürhan Albayrak and Provincial Organization Chairman Erkan Koca reacted by stating that the posters regarding some events to be held on Hamamyolu Street for the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day were taken down by the security guards of Odunpazarı Municipality.
In his written statement, AK Party Eskişehir Provincial Chairman Albayrak noted that July 15 was the name of the epic in which the nation defended its independence, will and homeland.
Emphasizing that Martyr Ömer Halisdemir walked to martyrdom without hesitation on the night of the coup attempt, and that he was a hero who changed the fate of the nation by foiling the plans of traitors, Albayrak said:
"It is unacceptable that the July 15 banner on Hamamyolu Street was cut down by Odunpazarı Municipality officials. The fact that a municipal official who tried to take down the banner did not recognize Ömer Halisdemir is at least as thought-provoking and hurtful as this intervention. We will hang that banner again. We will also re-write the name of our martyr Ömer Halisdemir in every corner of this city."
"We do not understand the July 15 indigestion"
Provincial Organization Chairman Erkan Koca, in his statement with some party members on Hamamyolu Street, stated that a poster was hung to invite citizens to the commemoration program to be organized by Eskişehir Governorship within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Stating that there is no emblem or phrase of any political party on the posters, Koca said, "Private security guards affiliated with Odunpazarı Municipality cut the posters. We do not understand this indigestion, the July 15 indigestion. Many Ömer Halisdemirs were martyred. We also keep watch over the posters for days, until the morning." he said.
