Approximately 300 kilograms of red meat, of unknown origin and transported under inappropriate conditions in Alanya district of Antalya, were seized and destroyed.
Alanya Municipality Police Department teams carried out an inspection in Mahmutlar District Menderes Boulevard upon the notice. During the investigations, it was determined that approximately 300 kilograms of red meat products were transported without any transportation documents, in violation of hygiene rules and that cold chain conditions were not met.
It was noted that the origin, production and expiration dates of the meat left on the pavement and declared to be brought to various businesses in Alanya could not be determined.
A coordinated activity was initiated with the Alanya District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams. After the inspections, the meat products were confiscated and taken to the Alanya Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate construction site to be destroyed. Unhealthy meat was destroyed under the supervision of relevant institutions to prevent a possible public health risk.
