The stubble fire that broke out in the field in BURSA's Gemlik district was taken under control before it reached the forest, with the intervention of the teams from land and air.
A stubble fire broke out in a field in Gemlik around 13.30. Following the notice, forest and fire brigade teams and other support elements were dispatched to the region. Extinguishing activities; 3 flame extinguishing helicopters, 6 water tankers, 2 water tankers, approximately 40 forest personnel and 6 service vehicles participated. In addition to fire brigades, villagers also supported the work with water tankers. As a result of air and land activities, the fire was taken under control before it reached the forest.
'EVEN THE SMALLEST NEGLIGENCE CAN CAUSE BIG FIRES'
Gemlik Forest Enterprise Manager Remzi Artar stated that the fire was taken under control in a short time and said, "Due to the increasing temperatures in the summer months, even the slightest negligence can cause large fires. We expect our citizens to show maximum sensitivity in both agricultural areas and forest areas." Artar stated that forestry teams are on duty in the field, patrols have been increased in critical areas and measures are being taken in coordination with relevant institutions.
