The fire, which broke out in a grassy area in the Middle East Technical University (METU) Forest in ANKARA and spread to the trees, was extinguished by firefighters before it spread.
Flames broke out at around 15.30 in the METU Forest in Çiğdem District of Çankaya district. The fire, which broke out in a grassy area for an unknown reason, spread to the area with trees. Upon notice, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and General Directorate of Forestry fire crews were dispatched to the scene. After the rapid intervention of the teams, the flames were extinguished before they grew.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
