In the investigation against 119 suspects who were found to be involved in drug trafficking and making publications encouraging drug use on virtual media in ANKARA, 31 people were sent to prison and judicial control decisions were given for 42 people.
According to the statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, intelligence and technical activities were carried out by the Ankara Provincial Police Department Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate teams under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As a result of the studies, detention orders were issued for 119 suspects who were found to be involved in drug trafficking, publicly encouraging the use of drugs or stimulants through virtual media, and making publications of this nature. During the operation, 77 of the suspects were detained.
After their procedures at the police station, 76 suspects were brought to Ankara Courthouse. While 3 of the suspects whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office were released, 21 were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control and 52 for arrest. While 31 of the 52 suspects referred with a request for arrest were arrested, 21 were released on condition of judicial control. It was reported that the investigation into the fugitive suspects and some suspects in prison is continuing.
