The father who stabbed and killed a person during a fight in Antalya's Aksu district was sentenced to life imprisonment, and his two daughters who helped him were sentenced to 8 years and 4 months in prison.
At the hearing held at Antalya 4th High Criminal Court, the detained defendant Ömer Hot, the daughters of the unarrested defendants Aybeniz Hot, Derya Hot, S.T. and the complainants and party lawyers attended.
Arrested defendant Ömer Hot, who made his defense at the hearing, stated that he did not accept the accusations and claimed that the murder knife was in the victim's father's possession and that the knife was smuggled from the scene.
The detained defendant Aybeniz Hot also stated that she did not accept the accusations and argued that they were being tried in court for a crime they did not commit.
The unarrested defendant, Derya Hot, claimed that she was not guilty and requested her acquittal.
Ramazan Talay, the victim's father, claimed that the defendants did not show any remorse and said that he wanted justice to be served by being punished in the most severe way.
Mother Sevim Talay claimed that the murder was planned and said, "I raised my child honestly. I buried my son. Let them be punished." he said.
Yasin Talay said that even if the defendants are sentenced, they will be released from prison one day, but his brother will never be able to come out of the ground.
After a short break, the court sentenced the detained defendant Ömer Hot to life imprisonment for "intentional murder".
While the committee sentenced Aybeniz Hot and Derya Hot to life imprisonment for the crime of "aiding deliberate murder", their sentences were reduced to 8 years and 4 months with good conduct and discretion reductions. It was decided to acquit the detained defendant S.T.
Seyit Muhammet Talay (27), a farmer in the district, and Ö.S., who was listening to loud music in front of his house. An argument broke out between them on December 25, 2024. Talay, who was injured with a knife after the argument turned into a fight, died 3 days later in the hospital where he was taken.
Among the detained suspects, Ö.S. was arrested, their daughter A.S. and D.S. and his son-in-law S.T. He was released on condition of judicial control.
Announcing his opinion at the last hearing, the prosecutor demanded that the detained defendant Ömer Hot be punished for "intentional murder" and his daughters Aybeniz Hot and Derya Hot for "aiding intentional murder", and that the undetained defendant S.T be acquitted.
