Ardahan University Rector Prof. Dr. Öztürk Emiroğlu evaluated the university's activities regarding internationalization, academic development and infrastructure investments.
Meeting with members of the press at the university's Yenisey Guesthouse, Emiroğlu said that they have recently taken important steps to strengthen the academic and physical infrastructure of the university.
Stating that they are carrying out promotional activities in Azerbaijan, the USA and Kosovo in order to increase the number of international students, Emiroğlu stated that the number of students will increase with the new quotas allocated by the Council of Higher Education.
Stating that the Livestock and Dairy Farming Program at Göle Nihat Delibalta Vocational School and the Beekeeping Program at Ardahan central campus were opened, Emiroğlu noted that the university has risen to the top 3 thousand band in the ranking of world universities.
Stating that they signed a cooperation protocol with Ankara University in the fields of technoparks and apitherapy, Emiroğlu said that they planted lentils and chickpeas on the campus land for the first time and that they aim to develop food supplements from these products.
Stating that the construction of the library and cafeteria is progressing faster than planned, Emiroğlu stated that the foundation of the Animal Health Research and Application Hospital is planned to be laid in September, the installation process of the 2 megawatt capacity solar power plant investment has started and the TÜBİTAK Science Laboratory is aimed to be put into service in October.
Emiroğlu also stated that they are working on electric bus and tram projects for campus transportation, an electric vehicle charging station provides service, and that an ice skating rink and an open football field are planned to be built within the scope of "Sports Friendly Campus" activities.
After the meeting, Emiroğlu, together with members of the press, inspected the TÜBİTAK Science Laboratory, which is under construction.
