President of the Constitutional Court (AYM), Kadir Özkaya, published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Özkaya emphasized that July 15 was a unique epic of resistance and heroism that he wrote by defending the nation's independence, future and freedom against the treacherous coup attempt against the democratic state of law, constitutional order and national will.
Özkaya stated that this heinous attempt targeting the constitutional order was eliminated thanks to the unwavering determination and courage of the nation and the determined stance of the state, and added:
"Our commitment to democracy, the rule of law and national sovereignty has been strongly demonstrated to the whole world. Our Constitutional Court, which has clearly and decisively rejected this illegal attempt from the first moments of the coup attempt, continues its activities to protect our constitutional order, which guarantees the rule of law, the principle of the democratic rule of law, and fundamental rights and freedoms, within the framework of the duty given to it by the Constitution. With the awareness of the strong will of our beloved nation, which was demonstrated on July 15, our Constitutional Court continues to protect our democracy, the state of law and our constitutional values under all circumstances." We wholeheartedly believe that it will continue to protect the spirit of national unity and solidarity and carry it to future generations."
Özkaya commemorated the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the unity of the country and the independence of the nation with mercy, gratitude and respect, and expressed his gratitude to the veterans.
