Minister of FAMILY and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said, "Today, there are currently 148 day care and rehabilitation centers affiliated with our Ministry. In these centers, we offer completely free services to our disabled citizens and their families." he said.
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş came to his father's home, Konya, today. Minister Göktaş first visited Konya Governorship and Metropolitan Municipality and attended the opening ceremony of the Disabled Active Life Center built by Karatay Municipality. Speaking at the opening, Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that the center was built on an area of 10 thousand 544 square meters and said:
"In this center, we have built a system that will make the lives of our brothers and sisters with special needs easier and reveal their abilities in every field, from education to art, from sports to professional development. This facility, which costs 300 million lira with the current investment value, includes many departments such as libraries, science and art workshops, music and dance halls, sports fields, special education centers, physiotherapy and therapy rooms, sensory integration and observation units. In short, this center has become the 'symbol of overcoming obstacles one by one'."
In his speech, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that the opened center will increase the participation of disabled individuals in social life and said, "This building will provide a safe living space that will increase the participation of our disabled citizens in social life. This roof will create a strong support mechanism that will make the lives of our families easier. On this occasion, I hope that such a valuable service will be beneficial to our disabled brothers, our precious families, and Konya." he said.
Reminding that they have implemented the Family-Based National Early Intervention System as a ministry, Minister Göktaş said, "Today, there are 148 day care and rehabilitation centers affiliated to our Ministry. In these centers, we offer completely free services to our disabled citizens and their families. We all know that the foundation of a child's life is laid between the ages of 0-8. The right support, right guidance and timely intervention provided during this period can change not only our children's today, but their whole lives. With this understanding, as the Ministry, we have implemented our Family-Based National Early Intervention System. Today This center, which we have opened, assumes an important responsibility as the 6th pilot application center of our system. Here, our children aged 0-8 with developmental risks or disabilities will be supported with a holistic approach by our expert teams in the field of early intervention. Because we know that touching a child's life in a timely manner is not only supporting their development, but also giving hope to their family and adding strength to their future. I believe that the experiences we will gain here will form the basis of a strong model that will reach not only Konya but also our children all over our country. will create." he said.
