Malatya Coppersmiths' Bazaar, which was heavily damaged in the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes and rebuilt, is returning to its old days. Sharing images from the bazaar, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum gave the message, "In 11 provinces, residences and workplaces are complete. Our tradesmen are opening their shutters in the Bakırcılar Bazaar, the heart of Malatya. May you have abundant and fruitful earnings."
The city center, where the heart of commerce beats in Malatya, which was heavily destroyed in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, was revived with the 'Central Bazaar Project'. Within the scope of the activities carried out by Emlak Konut GYO, affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, 14 thousand 937 bored piles were first driven in Bakırcılar Bazaar and the ground was strengthened. Then, 5 thousand 713 independent sections were built in accordance with the original. In the Şire Market located within the bazaar, the ground was strengthened using 651 bored piles and 243 independent sections were built. The completed workplaces are delivered to the rightful owners in stages.

Stating that he has been a tradesman in Şire Market for 13 years, Serhat Toktamış explained the activities carried out in the region after the earthquake: After the houses were completed, they started to build the city center. Along with the city center, workplaces also began to be completed. What we went through was not an easy thing. The state was always with us. Both as a house, as a residence and as a shop... We are comfortable now. Our loved ones and acquaintances are coming. Those who actually see this area are very happy. Thank goodness those days are over. Hope has sprouted again in Malatya. Life has started again.
"There was no such culture in Malatya before"
Stating that the buildings before the earthquake were very old, Toktamış said that the reconstructed workplaces were more spacious: Believe me, we did not expect this long. It was very nice. There was no such culture in Malatya before. They were always old buildings, but now there are places to sit and use everywhere. For example, all of the buildings have parking lots underneath them.
